Ransomware is a type of cyber attack designed by hackers where all company data is encrypted and hijacked becoming inaccessible overnight.

This data remains in the control of hackers until a ransom (usually with exorbitant amounts) is paid.

We had famous cases of large companies that had their data hijacked all over the world, but it can happen with all sizes of companies and segments and in some cases, they can lead a company to bankruptcy.

Data loss is an error condition in information systems where information is destroyed by failure (example: failing hard drives) or negligence in storage (such as mishandling, careless handling or storage under unsuitable conditions), transmission or processing.
